Kung Fu (2021 Version)
It is an absolute fucking delight to see a woman (and a woman of color, no less) who has a lot of connections, whom people trust when they first meet her, and who is allowed to beat the shit out of folks in the way that typically only a white male action hero is allowed to do. She gets to have action hero competence porn right out of the gate instead of the starting character missteps, while still having an arc to grow and develop with as a character.
I'm only on episode two of season one, but damn, this show is a delight. Also there's a lovely father and daughter relationship. I'm just very much a sucker for that. This entry has been cross-posted to Dreamwidth (
