ETA: SOLD to a loving home!
My mom has this habit of buying me too much yarn. She finds it at Goodwill and estate sales, and I've trained her out of buying all the acrylic. Which, okay! It's great! I don't mind! (Though sometimes she does push me to desperately make things out of what she's found and show her what I've made, but okay, she can be patient.)
But she found me some gorgeous merino and silk roving in an ice blue, gray-white and black blend of colors. I don't spin - and I don't want to start spinning. I need to sell the roving.
I got it from her in January and it's been living in gallon plastic freezer bags in my house since then, so I know it's not infested with anything. (If so, it would have hatched and died in the bags in the intervening seven months since I've gotten it.) The roving smells faintly of Febreze, which was there before I acquired it and it's not going to go away from being hoarded in plastic bags. But also you know it hasn't picked up any new cooking smells from being stashed in my dining room.
Images are below the cut, including all three of the labels so you know what you'd be getting. Looking at
an Etsy search and
at Webs roving for price-matching, I think $15 per braid plus shipping (priority mail, which has both tracking and insurance) is more than fair for untouched, stashed roving.
