I can't fix mistakes in brioche when I notice them several rows down, using the drop stitch/crochet hook method :(

That's when I haul everything to my local yarn store and look at them piteously. They usually are sympathetic enough to fix it for me!

One of life's horrible ironies is that I used to teach beginner to advanced knitting & crochet classes, and was one of those yarn store experts who helped people out of knitting disasters.

So when I eff-up brioche stitch, there's no one I can turn to because all the advice is the same: a) frog it back or b) applique a cute crochet flower over the mistake. The

Surely there must be something that you can do? Other than frogging back who the heck knows how far?

So it turns out that I'm making the hat, not the cowl in this Purl Bee brioche pattern that I posted about yesterday, since I inadverently cast on the number of stitches for the hat. Whoops. But I love the look of the brioche stitchwork!

I had no idea you used to teach knitting, though. What made you give that up?
