I hope no one thinks that the regulars are the heroes of the show any more. They're the protagonists, this is true. But they're not heroes. Most of them stopped being heroes a while back (and some of them never were), but even
Bonnie, last night, and it kind of hurt me a lot to watch that.
Show. Your protagonists actively aided and abetted a woman who tortured two people for two thousand years because one of them left her on their wedding day. I mean, I'm not saying Silas was a nice guy (kind of the opposite), but Amara seemed to be fairly principled, not to mention really, really damaged after two thousand years of torture, and honestly, you let. a. stalker. and. abuser. win. Not to mention continuing to condemn supernaturals to hell/purgatory for basically ever. I love Bonnie, but I just don't see Bonnie willingly going along with soemthing like that.
Also, show, way to make a black woman an abusive, vengeful she-devil after her love left her for a white woman. Ew.
I really hope this whole Silas/Qetsiya/Amara thing is now wrapped up and will never be referred to again. I doubt it will be. But I hope it is.
ETA: To be clear, I still adore Katherine, Bonnie, Caroline, Elena, and even Nadia (who was just introduced). I'm just very, very disappointed in the show.
