Fringe 4.08: Back to Where You've Never Been (and universe color coding confusion)

My season one and two DVDs need to get here now. They were on backorder, which is very frustrating, but at $14/season, I suppose I can't complain too much. Even though I will.

Okay, I am confused. Can someone please let me know if I'm right as to which universe is which?

Personally, I'm kinda hoping the Amberverse (current verse) isn't some alternate universe, but just what happened to the regular blueverse/redverse when Peter was erased from time. And that, eventually, these people will all get their memories back from the 'normal' verses (and Alt!Livia will get her son back somehow), but still keep all the new memories they've made. That way, we get to keep all the awesome developments from this season like field!Astrid and the Olivia/Lincoln partnership and Olivia's relationship with Nina, while still getting all those old connections back.

As far as Nina is concerned, I'm hoping she's not evil but is just trying to give Amberverse!Olivia the abilities of Blueverse!Olivia because that's what she'll need to survive. How she knows Olivia is meant to have these powers...maybe one of the Observers told her or maybe there was a prophecy of some kind, idk, but I'd like to think that's the reason she's hurting Olivia: because it's the only way to save her.

These are all of my hopes too! (Except I have no idea which ship would survive that merger inside my head (Olivia/Peter vs. Olivia/Lincoln, biggest death match in this decade, lol))

lol, for once, I wouldn't be torn at all since I don't ship Olivia/Peter but I do ship Olivia/Lincoln in each and every verse. Though, as long as alt!Liv/alt!Lincoln end up together, I'll be good :)

Haha, I love alt!Liv/alt!Lincoln. I didn't expect to ship Olivia/Lincoln also but then it snuck up on me. I'd be fine with throwing over Olivia/Peter except that Joshua Jackson still hasn't lost his status as the epitome of romantic shinyness in my brain, lmao. (Hey, it was a long time before Fringe...)

Anyway I just hope that if/when the Amberverse people get their memories back, things don't dip too heavily into triangle-cliche-land, on any front.

Avoiding triangle drama is pretty much the only reason I'd want the Amberverse to be a complete AU. That way, Olivia/Lincoln can happen and Peter can go back to his Olivia in his verse.

lol, I haven't seen Dawson's Creek in an insanely long time, but I remember adoring Pacey when I was younger, thinking he was the perfect boyfriend. I wonder how that would hold up after all these years :)

But...Amberverse blonde Olivia has Cortexiphan in her brain already. So wouldn't Amber/Blueverse Olivia already have the same powers as Blueverse Olivia? And how would Nina know about Blueverse Olivia and the abilities that she has?

I kind of hope there weren't any prophecies, though. I'm a little tired of prophecies. About 90% of the time, I find them to be lazy writing. (Legend of the Seeker is a good example of a recent show that managed to pull it off.)

I want Amber/Blueverse and Amber/Redverse people to get the memories of the original universes. I don't know what that would do or how that would change things. But that's what I would like to have happen.

At this point, I'm rather confused but even if Amberverse!Olivia has Blueverse!Olivia's abilities, she clearly doesn't know about it so maybe the 'treatments' or whatever will allow her to access those abilities without Walter's help? IDK...I basically just want some reason other than 'doin' teh evil' for Nina to be hurting Olivia.

Exactly. Though, in alt!Liv's case, I also want her to get Henry back, somehow.
