Ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Kindred fic!

I really need to dig up and post some of my earlier darker (non-smutty) writing.

I love that show SO MUCH. I ended up buying it on VHS, and then on DVD when it came out on DVD. *flails* Isn't it awesome?

YES, YOU DO.

I had it all taped off of TV for the longest time and then bought it on DVD.

Though I wasn't a huge fan of Caitlyn and it kinda ticked me off, cause Caitlyn was one of my favorite firt names... and they gave her MY last name, damnit.

I liked her, she was ok, but she didn't DRAG ME IN like Lillie did.

Though that could have also been because I always had so much fun playing Toreador characters when we were running around and playing Vampire.

I didn't mention the taping it off the TV? How'd I miss that?

Caitlin was okay. Like, I can see where they were going with her, but the necessity of keeping her in the dark about the nature of vampires was getting REALLY annoying. It made her look far more stupid than she was.

Lillie, though? Oh, Lillie really dragged me in.

*giggling* You know, for all I have mad love for the Toreador, I've never played one for more than a few weeks. They got a very bad rep in the Chicago area. Let's see. I've also played Brujah, Malkavian, Setite, Giovanni, and Cappadocian. I've done one-shot Tremere and Nosferatu characters, and I had a City Gangrel for a while. But my Toreador was only in play for maybe a month at most before that game ended.

I was generally a Toreador... though I did have a Cappadocian character for a while, and I had created a Tremere character but never really got to toy with her much.

Though I think for me, half the fun was building the character and coming up with the story of their past. As I used to actually write the story of their past as I was building them.

I actually have a Kindred/original uberfic that turned into a mini-novella that I've been working on for a while for Mesh. I'll have to share that with you as well. Though now that I think of it, I've mentioned that before, haven't I?

Cappadocians are fun to play. I was actually kind of glad the game my Toreador was in ended, because I was playing a belly dancer, and I got so pissy every time the players kept asking if she was a stripper. BELLY DANCE =/= STRIPPING.

I'll write huge character backgrounds. Isn't that supposed to be the best part of building a character? (Though, um, minmaxing the hell out of the stats is enjoyable too.)

Um, no. You haven't mentioned this! Share!

Good to know. Not that I'm ever likely to play in a campaign again. Out of curiosity, what kind of bad rep?

Aside from the usual claptrap about Toreador stereotypes, you mean? *eyeroll* Anyone playing a Toreador is automatically suspected of being either an Assamite or a Setite. I swear, I've played in games where there were literally no genuine Toreador around. I don't know if that happens a lot elsewhere, but it happens a lot around here.

Oh, probably. I'm used to people not wanting to play them because they don't think they're badass enough. Or something. *eyeroll*

Clearly, none of these people have met a properly minmaxed Toreador.

I mean, jeez. I can minmax a good Toreador. If I can do it, anyone can.
