So nobody ever posts here or probably even reads things here but I will post for the sake of posting....and more importantly for the sake of staying awake.
I have Core team duty this week which means I get to be here from 5 to 5:30ish Sat thru Mon this week. My purpose is basically to help get the Engineering Coordinator to get a hold of and fill in selected individual on whatever emergent outage issues they're wanted for. This far into the outage, there's not a whole lot going on. I've mostly just tried to do the little things for people so they don't have to come in. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Either way, I'm already here so if I can take care of it and save some poor guy's weekend, so be it. As if I wasn't already having fun, I get to attend the most boring meeting I've ever been to here each day of this assignment. We cover a report that runs between 100 and 50 pages one page at a time. Needless to say, I come in totting caffeine. Lot of caffeine.
But other than that the job is actually going really well. People who work here are pretty interesting and nice and my own group is the best on site; my group of sarcastic, argumentative, stubborn and corny engineers. They're the type when they're not picking on you is when you know that they're not too keen on you anymore. Kinda like my family is so it suit e just fine.
Besides work, James, the gang and I did our annual Thanksgiving feast. I missed out on the cooking but I got there just in time to eat. The guys did a really good spread. Biscuit even made the recipe for green beans that I taught them a few years back and we all love so much. Muffin has also been playing with his Mac and cheese recipe since we last switched out the cheeses and it's coming along really well. He said he couldn't find enough pepper which sucks because if I had been there I could have shown him where the black and WHITE pepper was (I think the white would have gone along awesomely). And of course the turkey was delicious. Muffin's good at the turkey thing.
But yeah, that's what's going on these days. There are other things also to maybe mention that have happened over time. But I don't think they really need discussion. I'll just give you a list and if you actually read this post and are interested enough, request post or phone call on said subject:
-James moved in with me
-I got a new car
-James sold his car and now is renting my old car
-I got raises
-Jason got married
and yeah, that's all the big items I can think of. Here's plans for holidays in case you want to try to meet with me/come along with me/desire posting and/or discussion:
-Thanksgiving: Virginia with the Tietz (I don't know how to pluralize that, Tietzes? Tietzs? Tietzi?)
-Christmas: Home with the family and general gallivanting around the Clemson/Greenville area
-New Years: Hilton Head with Mr. Craig Baker
-Random just because trip: Last week of January in New Hampshire with the infamous Sarah Carpenter for supposed snowboarding (or whatever we make it out to be, be it snowboarding or just sliding down a mountain on our ass and/or face)
