Relief.
I dropped my notebook down 12 cement steps.
Killed it.
Took it to a nearby computer repair and was told - You killed it.
WAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But, but...it's only 15 months old! It's too young to die!
So, I've been trudging along on an ancient IBM ThinkPad - and DIAL-UP!!!!!!! Staring at my silver, shiny, DEAD notebook...it's got wireless and I'm up to my chin in converging hotspots!
One of the guys at work suggested I tap our IT guru. I did. And at 10 this morning he took my poor baby - until 3:30.
He fixed it. My notebook is now named Lazarus.
Harddrive - kapluy. He put in another - no minimal programs, but hey, there's good old Tucows to go to. In fact I did and download a wonderful word processing program that's just mind blowing. Atlantis Word Processor if anyone's interested.
I'm going to have to invest in a 1 gig memory chip since I'm down to only one and it's 526. I run, normally, several programs at the same time.
I am SOOOO happy today!
And tomorrow go to look at new apartment. Yep. Moving. AGAIN. Le sigh. Hopefully this place will meet my needs, which it probably will since they're larger (I live in 920
