My long overdue update

goldfinch gave me the idea that I should also update and let people know what I've been up to. One month ago, I got my B.S. from Haverford, as many of you know. I unfortunately do not have a job yet. I have been living at home with my parents since graduation and looking for a full-time job in the scientific community, and it has been boring and frustrating. My current plan is to work for a couple of years and then go back for a masters in education to get certified and become a biology teacher.

I have at least done some traveling since the summer began-on May 25th, I returned to Philadelphia to watch my boyfriend, Misha, graduate from Swarthmore College. I am very thankful that Haverford and Swarthmore Colleges cooperate to provide transportation between the two campuses for social events and classes; thus, I was able to meet Misha. Sadly, Misha graduated on May 28th and left early in the morning on May 29th to fly back to Palo Alto, California to stay with his parents for the summer before starting graduate work in Spanish in New York City at the CUNY Graduate Center. When he left, I hopped on a train and went up to Boston. On May 30th I took an interview with the Harvard Medical School/Partners Health Care Center for Genetics and Genomics in Cambridge. I still have not heard from them regarding a possible job offer, but I am hopeful. I then returned to Clinton and registered at the temp agency in hopes of making some spending money, but they have not called me to temp yet.

Tomorrow I will be off to New York City to attend a Haverford Alumni Networking event. I will stay with rosefyre, and plan to meet up with Phil in Times Square, which should be wonderful.

Next Tuesday, I will be at the Syracuse Airport at the crack of dawn to fly to California to spend six days with Misha. I am really looking forward to that!
