#WhiteCollar blow by blow episode reaction: 2.12 & 2.13

Feb 08, 2011 22:02

Ok, so I suck a little at keeping up with these, BUT at least I'm getting them up, right? Or something. ;) Blame David (pulling me back in to Dofus) and angst_bingo (Round 1 is done, Round 2 is set to start in the next few weeks) and trying to make words happen (I'm crawling out of my rut slowly).

It's another double header for y'all tonight. Again, there'll be a spoiler break between the old ep and tonight's, so scroll at your own discretion.

2.12 What Happens in Burma:
"Sweden, I like vikings" lol However, did I miss anything about where I cued in? Is this just sort of midconversation to start with?

Did he say UN investigator?

Ah~ find the real smugglier, who just happens to be in Manhatten.

"No pigeons were harmed in the mining of this ruby" awww

I love how Neal has never considered stealing gems in Burma. Uh huh.

Oh, hey. Burma = Mianmar. Why didn't I know that?

Ok, what do I know the ambassador from? He looks very familiar... Was he a fed somewhere?

Diplomatic immunity... yeah, y'all didn't just drop that out of nowhere didja. This is gonna get messy.

"...is a friend, she was..." ... I shouldn't have naughty thoughts about why Diana knows her, should I? :loves her:

Confessions... of one kind then another. Nice emotional tie show.

I love how knowledgeable Diana is, I do.

And now we flow into conversations about fathers. Interesting.

Yeah, there's so totally more of that story. The look on Neal's face when he walked away... He wasn't just a cop.

"by conversing with my arch rival" I love you Moz.

Also, I love that they made him adopted. Or in the system. Nice nod.

HAH. I knew it was more than just a cop. Issues abound.

Neal. Glasses. Hnngh. (Also, I love that Peter knows his vision rating! Dorks.)

"Why does your way beat my way?" lol. Bickering. Win.

:chokes and laughs: Mister. Satchmo. Oh man.

"paperwork is boring" lol

So is the guy totally bullshitting the story for the worth then? yeah he is.

Oh, Peter. Peter. What the ffffuck. ... wait, did Neal just call him a douchebag??

From jazz hands to a gem vault.

"how many gems can we take?" "take?" "use. for this particular mission."

HAHAHA Neal, are you going to fake pigeon bloods?

Now I want madscientist!Mozzie. Or Steampunk!WhiteCollar.

Masonic ... Oh Mozzie. I adoree you sometimes.

"close enough for government work" haha

Peter glancing at Neal during the cutting. That is all.

Oh, clever fix, put them on models.

DIANA DONE UP ALL FANCY. Reading the crowd and the gem. Sitting. Er. :brain fritzes a little:

Followed by Neal with the opened collar and vest.

Of course the guy brings the gun. :sighs:

Hahaha, ok, that reveal was badass.

This is too easy a fix for so early in the episode. So what goes wrong? Or twists?

Oh Neal. Getting toward woobie there. :hugs him:

:narrows eyes: Dear Mianmar: fuck you. Dear Peter: Really? You brought him there? tsk tsk. Your confidence in the system works against you...

Peter pushing about his dad... And doesn't believe Neal's not-whole-truth. Although hey, how he got good with guns...

Why would he signal his girlfriend's nickname?

Ooooh. Oh stuff on her drive. And... rebel movements. Oh my.

Awww the video about quoting his dad. Aww.

And paying the ambassador a visit will fail how?

I love how she wants Neal to search her.

Neal got a message? Ah~ I see.

Father parallels. And oh. Oohh~~ Will Neal break in for the guy?

Ah, more father tie ins. Nice tiny info drop on Diana. Slick show.

And so they put two and two together about why the guy picked them.

Aww, Mozz, not wanting to give up the ruby.

... It's so going to start smoking out of his pocket... and there it goes.

"you're rationalizing" really, Peter? Cos honestly I thought it was cos he was a thief.

"if this was your son, or my son" "I can't protect you" :isn't flailing or anything:

I love how Diana knows Peter so well. And seems to find it adorable.

"already savoring" :coughs:

Parking tickets? Oh Peter. I love you. You're being quite the dick, but oh. So. Perfect.

Smoking bag smokes!

I wonder if that would stand up in court. Hm.

Ambassador replacement, hah. I love it.

The guy's shirt looks familiar... Like, Kane or Carlson familiar. o.O

Dirty cop :/ I'm sorry Neal. "certain things are in my blood" Oh bb no. :hugs him:

BAHAHAHA. "Does she wear hats?" Oh Peter, ilu. So, so much.

2.13 Countermeasures:
"Do you know how hard it is to find vacuum tubes these days?" lol, oh Moz.

BILLY DEE! HOSHIT!

"somethin' like that" uh-huh

Ford. :pauses: Ford. :pauses: Dear brain. Shut. Up.

Swallowed a handcuff key! LOL And Awww Satchmo. And awww EL. (Good boy!)

Owie, Billy Dee's not so nice a dude, apparently.

BAHAHA. Ok, slipping a print like that? Wicked. Very slick.

Ah~ former cell mate. Gotcha.

"Back then the three of us were inseperable" ... yeah. My brain just made them poly.

What's he doing with the suit then...? Oh, hoh. Interesting. Was it blank or did I just look up at the wrong moment?

Mechanic... Oh mechanic, not like assassin like the movie.

Awwwwwww Moz hangs with June! ♥

"I hope that's a non-sequitor" hahaha, Peter. "Find another way." You shouldn't have said that. You really... Yeah. Hi El. I love you.

"and you're paying me with dinner!" El is amazing.

"outside patsy" "he's got that look" HAH. Thieves, ilu.

OH. OH MY GOD. SINGING. YAAAAAY.@jeffeastin: #whitecollar the full June/Neal song will be available on season 2 DVD.

So Peter dances and horseback rides. Interesting.

Neal's phone... hrm. Oh! Moz. Hi Moz!

"the guy's a whisper" I love that phrase.

"why do you have a hair dryer" ... Um. Situations such as these?

Ford can totally tell Peter's sniffing.

:raises eyebrows: Fake money? Oh, hoh. What does Billy Dee want?

Neal... leaving it there was a bad idea. I'm just saying. Totally called him grabbing that.

However, mostly worth it for the look he gives Peter. Hah.

Aww, El being apologetic. We're only halfway through though. Is the thing with the muscle a red herring or is there a job going down?

lol, Moz. Cleaned up pretty XD

Hello treasury agents!

"so I've been told" all his hypotheticals, lol. Also, for old bills, wash them for the paper? I'm just sayin'.

"protecting me, from myself" ... I'm confused.

Pumas stone. Nice. Anyone know if that's black box?

I love the way Neal looks in that suit, I really do.

"Is that the guy?" oi.

I love the way they play off each other. Billy Dee: don't die. Come back. I like you.

'Atta boy Neal.

:raises eyebrow: Billy Dee, you picking a fight?

Boy the guy they got for the lead thug is wild eyed. I mean, seriously. He'd freak me right the fuck out if he got in my face.

Nice cover boys.

"You wanna be him when you grow up?" :giggles:

Of course Neal has a good memory. Burke the Jerk? awwww

oooh, convenient.

LOL, Neal not knowing which way to go.

Heh, Moz's reaction to working together.

Foreshadowing? Neal wants to settle down, get out of the life? I kinda hope not. Not til show's over, anyway.

Oh-oh, Neal gotted snatched!

"This isn't what I do" "It is today" -- I want to re-appropriate that dialog...

So is Ford gonna double cross the assholes and get them caught while getting away with the money?

I do love watching Neal be a criminal.

"Where would you go to hide?" "Someplace I've never been caught"

:raises eyebrow at Neal:

"Thought I saw a cat stuck in a tree" - slick. ilu Billy Dee.

HI DIANA. I love when you push the tough guys around.

It's an odd sense of tension they've put into this. I'm not sure if it's tension for Neal or if it's for Billy Dee... but the parallel in this moment feels weak. Like it ought to be one or the other and the ambiguity hurts it. :frowns:

"Tell June I'm sorry" -- how'd he get out? Oh~ right, speakeasy.

Oh Neal. :pets him on the head:

"There's no such thing as a final score. Only the next one." So true. And I want to see it extrapolated to the end of Neal's life...

Oh June. Oh honey. :hugs her tightly:

:melts completely: Him dancing with her. Just. Perfect.

"Old conmen never die" "our smiles just fade away." -- this line too.

Oh boys. I'm definitely interested in how this show will play out... not just the season finale, but over the whole...

I'd say "Is it next week yet?!" BUT. Tomorrow night? Justified is back. :does a dorky groovy dance of glee:
