Happy Friday 13th! (And Valentine's Day.....)

I wasn't gonna say anything, but Twitter conspired against me.

First Warren Ellis broke my brain. Then shannonrita wanted me to share.

(I'm looking at you, merry_gentry, just don't hate me.)

As per Warren Ellis:
Happy Valentine’s Day to all. And to those who hate the day, I say this: Valentine’s Day is a Christian corruption of a pagan festival involving werewolves, ( Read more... )

"The execution is a little jerky. But it's a pilot, so it can be forgiven" - agreed. I'm glad i stuck it out for the whole ep, cause the little white dress was the *only* thing keeping interest at first *g*

And, just a fangirly aside... Yay! "fred" (amy acker) - and, um, was that sparkage, or do i need to take the goggles off? And also - Tamoh Penikett (BSG)! the cast + Whedon is all the reason I'll need to give it another chance... like you said. I think it has great potential.

Acker was a definite benefit. And it might be sparkage, I wasn't sure just because I've got this very nagging feeling that her character is abused. She's jumpy as a kicked kitten, y'know?

definitely. She's either the stand-up doc who insisted on experimenting on herself first, or the first experiment - maybe both! (wiped, but knows she's wiped, therefore can't get close to anyone 'cause she knows it's impermenant)
ooh I love 1st eps :D

I gotta say, though. As much as i ♥ Glau & Dushku, I kept waiting for them to flash a phone number at the bottom of the screen during those in-betweens - ugh. They're too hot without trying, them trying was just wrong somehow.

I agree! It was hokey, and not in the cheesy fun way. There's already the possible explotation issue in the show, and then having them doing that during commercial breaks was so over the top I was kinda twitching.

Also, was it just me, or were they really giving Glau the bad lines too. Like, bad-pick-up-line type ones? Ugh...
