I went to New Jersey for a week, for my cousin's wedding. It was nice! the weather was surprisingly pleasant and not freakishly cold/gloomy. There was only the occasional "fuck, it's cold" instead of the constant steady stream I'd been expecting. The wedding was lovely, too, and the reception was fun, and my family was.. cooler than anticipated. A nice surprise, really. also the drive sucked substantially less than I thought it would so perhaps another road trip is in the nearish future, though I wouldn't want to do it alone.
I am totally behind on my flist and have been mostly absent from internet things in general since getting back. Working on it!
One internet thing in particular is on my mind at the moment, though it means nothing to the non-fandom types on my flist. But everyone else: I am pretty sure I'm going to sign up for Yuletide. for.. the first time.. ever. um. I've actually never participated in ANY challenge and haven't written a damn thing in A VERY LONG TIME so ha.. ha, ha? I may be deluding myself here. But, hell, if given a month and half-decent prompts to choose from I think I can handle putting out something. Any advice for a noob, though?
Another audience participationy thing: my hair is in need of re-dying! I never posted pictures here of the first dye but then again I never got particularly good pictures anyway. But now the blonde's coming through and I am not sure what to go for next! here, I currently have a plus account and thus can do A POLL:

That'd be me on the right. with, y'know, the hair. Also that's my mom, sister, and grandmother. It actually wasn't that cold that day, but I was holding hot cider and using my sleeve to keep from burning my damn hand, so I look more bundled than was maybe necessary.
IN CONCLUSION I am home but mostly you guys probably didn't notice I was gone anyway! but it means I have to catch up on stuff. working on it! totally!
