The moon was out tonight, sailing over a deeply cold, still landscape, bright with the new snow. She was visible through a soft window trimmed with light clouds, showing her face yet not illuminating all below her. Yes, I got to see her just before full and, now, just after, but....
Why was I out driving this evening? I would rather I had not been, and there is yet to be closure. Uncertainty is one of the hardest mistresses.
I ask for answers and receive cards of mystery, the stuff of dreams and nightmares, and those things we have worked to avoid yet which have come home anyway. It is a test of endurance and an uneasy balance.
