Warning: Politics!!

Actually, I just want to save some article references, goodies found while doing my Sunday morning surfing.  I really do not mean to offend and realize that other people are passionate about their issues, whatever they may be, just as much as I am.  Gee, aren't I willing to offer up placatory qualifying statements, today.  Usually I say something ( Read more... )

Sadly the Boston Globe, like so many other media reports, always seem to leave out the rest of the story. I really wish that all media would give honest representation rather than spin for the candidate of their choice. What they fail to mention on the Troopergate is that the ex-husband was using his position as a trooper to intimidate members of Palin's family. There were death threats and he even tazered a 10 year old boy. As for the commissioner or whatever that got fired...he was given a different position in the government but declined it and ended up resigning. This info came directly from a Post Standard story that ran just before the RNC and was info given in a book written by a Syracuse native on Palin months before she was even considered for VP.

Actual reporting seems to be a thing of the past and it is sensationalism that sells. Chris was telling me about some of the cases he heard on grand jury & I was asking questions on things I had read in the paper. He told me that much of what is reported in the news is false and was done to sell the story to the public. I find that sad. What is the purpose of taking a crime and making it appear to be even more horrific just to sell a few more papers ( ... )

Now I understand a bit better - you gave me an example. There are a lot of stories where I read what is offered and then have to wonder: what's missing here? If it is a story where readers can post comments (like on Syracuse.com and on some of the NY Times stories) I have to further wonder what these other people read that I didn't - other people's holes in the story are different than mine. That is assuming that I get very far in scrolling through comments; people are incredibly vicious these days and that is apart from what is in the 'news.' People are nasty ( ... )
