I've been thinking superconsciously about what has been said in this conversation [If I may interject, this modification of discussion group is nice - we all have time to think about what we want to say, letting all levels of the brain get involved rather than just the immediate consciousness and the subconscious that just blurts out.] and have an observation: We may ponder our own purpose, the purpose of humanity as a whole and the purpose of the world in general. But what creeps into the consideration is also, 'what is the purpose of everyone else in relation to me?' Okay, I'm sure there are people this never occurs to: we all know a few folks who think the Universe revolves around them and only the Supreme Goddess of the Universe (who is, actually, on my Friend's list, LOL - you know who you are!) is correct in this assumption. In the interconnected web that contains us all there are the shining lights, the black holes, the archetypes and the stereotypes. Perhaps we all assort out, by way of some great hat but, most likely, by our own cultural aspirations/literature, into roles on the Great Stage on which life happens. "All the World's a Stage and we but Players Upon It." We make our place in this saga and some few of us gain a place in a Greater Saga, remembered as Heroes, as Gods and Goddesses. Many more may make a difference whether for good or ill and have that passing fame or notoriety but most are spots in the web, important to the nearby spots, taking care of the spaces near them, singing quiet songs along the threads of Existence.....
