[A small blonde girl sits at a piano but the room is too bright for anyone to make out the details. There's a man alongside her, older, and there's enough of the resemblance to clue you in to the fact that this man is her father. The girl smiles up at him as he moves her fingers on the correct keys until she grasps it and starts playing. After a beat she stops and nods then they both
start playing together as the light grows brighter and brighter until it starts to warp the features of the girl into what looks like a skull.
The scene eventually whites out completely and then eventually comes back to show the interior of Galactica's sickbay.
A song - different to the one Kara and the man played - starts up again, this time over the sounds of medical equipment beeping quietly. Kara's head is on the chest of Sam, hooked up to machines and unmoving as she lies there, tape playing, one hand clutching his before the dream fades out as she reaches out with her other hand to touch his chest.]
[Kara wakes with a look of mild horror and disbelief, reaching out for a figure that isn't there before she swears, knocking the Dreamberry over so it broadcasts what appears to be a white screen but is really her pillow. The sheets ruffle as she shifts around in the bed before she starts talking quietly.]
Lords...it’s Kara. I don’t know if you can hear me where I am but... [a pause as she inhales sharply, as though she’s trying to fight off a few tears] I need you to watch over Sam for me. Please.
[That’s when she looks behind her and sees the Dreamberry recording. Her hand comes down and the viewer is treated to the disorienting view that is the Dreamberry sailing through the air before it hits the wall with a sharp crack, screen cutting out as it does.]
[[ooc: So...canon update happened for Kara, this is me trying to write it in a slightly different way.]]
