Eventually, this will be Kara's playlist entry. Right now though, it's the home of important quotes so spoilers from the mini series right through to 3.17 Maelstrom. Some quotes I can't find but they'll pop up soon enough. There are some lyrics but it's not quite complete yet.
Episodes should be noted before the quote. People will either be referred to by name or callsign. The first time a name is used, the full name and rank will be given (rank only if applicable.) And in case it comes up Commander Adama is referred to as the Old Man at times when characters are talking to one another.
[Miniseries, Night 1]
Commander William 'Bill' Adama: What do you hear Starbuck?
Lieutenant Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace: Nothing but the rain
Bill Adama: Then grab your gun and bring in the cat.
Kara Thrace: Boom, boom, boom!
Colonel Saul Tigh: Starbuck... now there's a call sign. StarBUCK! Buck! Buck! Buck! Buck! Where'd ya get that nickname anyway? Is that before you were thrown in the brig as a cadet for drunken disorderly or after?
Kara Thrace: After.
Captain Lee 'Apollo' Adama: This seems familiar.
Kara Thrace: Captain Adama sir... hepphh... sorry I wasn't there to greet you with the rest of the squadron. Did they kiss your ass to your satisfaction?
Lee Adama: So? what's the charge this time?
Kara Thrace: Hmmm... striking a superior ass-hole.
Lee Adama: Ahhhh!... I bet you've been waiting all day to say that one.
Kara Thrace: Most of the afternoon.
Lee Adama: Yeah right...
Kara Thrace: So how long has it been?
Lee Adama: Two years.
Kara Thrace: Two years? We must be gettin' old. Seems like the funeral was just a couple of months ago.
Lee Adama: Yeah.
Kara Thrace: Your old man's doin' fine. We don't talk about it much. Maybe two three times a year. He still struggles with it though..."
Lee Adama: I haven't seen him...
Kara Thrace: Why not?
Lee Adama: Kara! Don't even start.
Kara Thrace: How long are you gonna do this?
Lee Adama: I'm not doing anything.
Kara Thrace: He lost his son, Lee...
Lee Adama: And who's responsible for that?!
Kara Thrace: Same old Lee... you haven't changed either.
Lee Adama: Zack was my brother!
Kara Thrace: What was he to me? Nothing?
Lee Adama: That's not what I meant. And you know it.
Kara Thrace: You know what? You should go... I'm getting the urge to hit another superior asshole.
[Miniseries, Night 2]
[After hearing from Chief Tyrol that Apollo is gone.]
Kara Thrace: Lords of Kobol, hear my prayers.. take the souls of your sons and daughters lost this day... especially that of Lee Adama, into your hands.
[Apollo returns.]
Lee Adama: Hey.
Kara Thrace: I thought you were dead.
Lee Adama: Well I thought you were in hack.
Kara Thrace: It'sgood to be wrong.
Lee Adama: Well, you should be used to it.. by now.
Kara Thrace: Everyone has a skill.
Kara Thrace: Lee!... Zack failed basic flight.
Lee Adama: What?!
Kara Thrace: Or at least he should have, but he didn't. Because I passed him. His technique was sloppy, and he had no feel for flying, but I passed him. Because he and I uhh.. because I felt something and I let it get in the way of my doing my job. And I couldn't fail him.
Lee Adama: Why .. why why're you telling me this...why why now?
Kara Thrace: It's the end of the world Lee. I thought I should confess my sins.
Saul Tigh: As you were.
Kara Thrace: Just trying to avoid another trip to the brig sir.
Saul Tigh: Lieutenant Thrace, Kara. What you did out there today, with Lee Adama, it was uhh hell of a peice of flying. Commander has always said you were the best pilot he has ever seen. Well, today you proved it. Now, about yesterday, during the game... well maybe I was outta line too, I just, I wanted to say uughhhmm sorry.
Saul Tigh: Well don't you have anything to say?
Kara Thrace: Permission to spaek off the record sir...
Saul Tigh: Granted.
Kara Thrace: You're a bastard.
Saul Tigh: You just don't know when to keep your mouth shut, do you? I am offering you a clean slate here.
Kara Thrace: I'm not interested in a clean slate with you. You're dangerous. You know why?
Saul Tigh: This'll be good.
Kara Thrace: Because you're weak. Because you're a drunk.
Saul Tigh: You done?
Kara Thrace: Yes sir.
Saul Tigh: You're returned to flight status. Heh! Let's see how long that lasts.
[Episode 1.03 Bastille Day]
Kara Thrace: Ummm. I have my flaws too.
Saul Tigh: The difference is, my flaws are personal, yours are professional.
[Episode 1.04 Act of Contrition]
Bill Adama: He said something else. That you might have been feeling guilty about something you did for Zak. What did you do for him?
Kara Thrace: I don't know. You'd have to ask Lee.
Bill Adama: I'm asking you.
Kara Thrace: Well I don't kn- I, ah...I don't really know what he was talking about, so...
Bill Adama: Don't fence with me, Kara. I love you like a daughter. I don't deserve that.
Kara Thrace: Ummm...Zak...failed...basic flight. He wasn't a bad pilot, he just had no feel for flying...and, um, when it came to his final check ride he...busted...three of the test manoeuvres, and I should have flunked him, but I didn't. The bottom line is your...son...didn't have the chops to fly a Viper...and I killed him.
Bill Adama: (following a flashback) You did it because you were engaged.
Kara Thrace: (breaking down) Because I made a mistake...because I was just...I was so in love with him...and I let that get in the way of doing my job...and um, and he um, he just wanted it so much, and I...I didn't want to be the one who crushed him...
Bill Adama: Reinstate the trainees to flight status.
Kara Thrace: I will...but I just want you to understand...that I...
Bill Adama: Do your job.
Kara Thrace: Yes sir...
Bill Adama: And walk out of this cabin...while you still can...
[Episode 1.08 Flesh and Bone]
Leoben Conoy: I have a soul. I see patterns. I know you, you're damaged. You were born to a woman who believed that suffering was good for the soul, so you suffered. Your life is a testament to pain. Injuries. Accidents. Some inflicted upon others, others inflicted upon yourself. It surrounds you like a bubble. But it's not real, it's just... It's just something she put in your head. It's something that you want to believe because it means you're the problem, not the world that you live in. You want to believe it because it means that you're bad luck. You're like a cancer that needs to be removed. Because you hear her voice every day and you want her to be right.
[Episode 1.12 Kobol’s Last Gleaming, Part 1]
Lee Adama: Why'd you do it, Kara? Just tell me why.
Kara Thrace: Because I'm a screw-up, Lee. Try to keep that in mind.
[Episode 2.02 Valley of Darkness]
Kara Thrace: After they attacked, I never... I never pined over any of my old crap. Never missed it. Stupid view of the parking lot. Broken toilet in the bathroom. You know, everyone I know... is fighting to get back what they had. And I'm fighting 'cause I don't know how to do anything else.
[Episode 2.06 Home, Part One]
[Apollo's talking to Starbuck]
Lee Adama: Hmm. It must have been hard, being back on Caprica. Being home. Probably saw some tough things back there. Anyway, tomorrow this whole thing is gonna end, one way or another. We find the tomb or we don't. We find a way to earth or we don't. I just want you to know, Kara, that I am your friend. I love you. If there is anything you wanna talk about, anything you wanna get off your chest then... I am here for you. [Starbuck starts throwing a ball towards the wall once more]
Lee Adama: Anyway... whenever you wanna talk, just let me know. [walks away]
Kara Thrace: What was that middle part again?
Lee Adam: Hm? What do you mean?
Kara Thrace: Did you say you love me?
Lee Adama: [laughs] Well... ahm...
Kara Thrace: Lee Adama loves me.
Lee Adama: No, all I meant was-
Kara Thrace: No seriously! Very sweet. You love me! [Apollo walks away] No, you love me. You can't take it back. There is no take backs.
Lee Adama: You're dreaming it Kara.
Kara Thrace: You love me.
Lee Adama: You're dreaming it.
Kara Thrace: You love me.
Lee Adama: Dreamer... [disappears around the corner]
Kara Thrace: Hmhm... okay.
[Episode 2.12 Resurrection Ship Pt II]
Kara Thrace: I, um, only knew Admiral Cain for a short time, so what I have to say about her will be short. She faced things. She looked them right in the eye and she didn't flinch. That's something that we do a lot around here. We second-guess. We worry. When I think about what she went through after the attack -- all alone, one ship, no help, no hope -- she didn't give up. She didn't worry. She didn't second-guess. She acted. She did what she thought needed to be done, and the Pegasus survived. Might be hard to admit, or hard to hear, but I think that we were safer with her...than we are without.
Kara Thrace: Lee. Lee, you okay? Are you okay?
Lee Adama: No, not really. Um...I broke my word to you.
Kara Thrace: What are you talking about?
Lee Adama: I let you down. I wasn't there when you needed me.
Kara Thrace: Look, a close call like that? That'd mess with anybody's head. Alright? You know, it turns out I didn't need you anyway, so... Let's just be glad that we both came back alive, alright?
Lee Adama: That's just it, Kara. I didn't want to make it back alive.
[Episode 2.15 Scar]
Kara Thrace: It is funny. You know the President says that we're saving humanity for a bright, shiny future on Earth. That you and I are never gonna see. We're not. Because we go out over and over again until someday, some metal motherfrakker is gonna catch us on a bad day and just blow us away.
Lee Adama: Bright, shiny futures are overrated anyway.
[Episode 2.20 Lay Down Your Burdens, Part Two]
[During the Cylons' march through the streets of New Caprica.]
Galen 'Chief' Tyrol: What do you want to do now, Captain?
Kara Thrace: The same thing we always do. Fight them until we can't.
[Episode 3.06 Torn]
Adama's feelings towards, and regarding, Thrace:
Bill Adama: You were like a daughter to me once-no more. You're malcontent and a cancer, and I won't have you on my ship. So you have a choice-you can figure out how to become a human being again, and an officer; or you can find another place to live, off of this ship. You're dismissed.
[Episode 3.17 Maelstrom]
Kara Thrace: I'm happy for you. Really. It's funny though, after all we've been through, we are right back where we started. You're CAG, and I am your hotshot problem pilot. (both laugh) I guess that's all we'll ever be now, huh?
Virtual Leoben: See, there's nothing so terrible about death, when you finally face it...it's beautiful. You're free now... to become who you really are.
Kara Thrace: [smiling] You're not Leoben.
Virtual Leoben : Never said I was. I'm here to prepare you to pass through the next door. To discover what hovers in the space between life and death.
Kara Thrace: I'll see you on the other side (...) Just let me go.
