(no subject)
i forgot to mention some pretty major things, like mike getting a job finally... a real job. in downtown chicago. he started in april, been living with the grandparents. we went to visit and go to danny's barmitzvah the other saturday, and while we were there found him an apartment for $700/month in bensenville, so he'll be nearby family. kinda expensive but a really decent place, nice carpeting, huge closet, decent sized, with parking and in a good neighborhood where I wouldn't be afraid to walk alone outside at night. a lot of the other places they looked at while we were out with the jewish relatives or getting lost 30 minutes out of the way up near great america were ratholes or two tiny. we're talking mexicans bbqing it up. mexicans always look at me the wrong way.
so anyway my brother moves in at the start of june right before he turns 23 and i just realized i have to get him a present for his birthday.
today i did pretty much absolutely nothing and i'm bored. this is why i'm updating livejournal, something i have done very infrequently in the last year.
in the fall i'm taking all english courses to graduate with a major in english and a minor in german language and literature... 250, a literary approach to film (seeing as i aced my cinematography class and am and english major, this should be a breeze). i'm also taking a poetry workshop and my seminar/ capstone: 401, which is with gilson again, the professor i had last semester and who is in charge of internships for english majors. the class will focus on one particular literary mode, and i asked her what she picked. oh she didn't pick drama or tragedy or something predictable but the fantastical. the fantastical, no, not harry potter type fantasy writing, i'm told. i do know we will be reading more of salman rushdie and angela carter.
