I Dreamed a Dream

So this morning I slept in a little bit because I was having the most delightful dreams.
I was in the Australian Outback and something had happened to me because half my head was shaved and I had a big scar but I felt fine and safe and happy.

I knew, in that way we know in dreams, that Larry had decided to take me to Australia because a medicine woman and a wolf had appeared to him in a dream and told him to bring me to them. He knew they were in Australia so that's why we were there.

The scenery was amazing. All blinding sun, red and brown rocks, cool deep soaring canyons, rivering blue sky, green rivers.

There was a group of Americans and a group of Australians and I wanted to stay with the Aussies. One woman kept insisting I was an American and must stay with my group and I kept saying all people weren't alike and didn't need to be grouped. Finally Larry blocked her exit by closing a door between him and the American group who were meeting for an early evening feast. I realized he was on one side with them and I was alone but he called to me to have fun with the others. I ran happily down the beach to join the group and we went swimming naked in the ocean.

After the swim I hiked through a canyon to meet Larry next to a deep emerald colored creek. The water was clear and green and I could see beautiful stones along the bottom. There was a beautiful tribal woman and a wolf pacing across the bank and she motioned for me to lay down next to Larry and get eye level with the water. She smiled and said if you waited and you encouraged the water, it would reveal it's surprises. We patted the water and trailed our fingers and soon all these brilliantly colored fish and frogs started coming to the surface. The woman laughed when I asked if I could hold one and nodded yes. I scooped out one of the lime green tree frogs and he eyed me good naturedly and seemed to nod at me. Larry did the same and his frog started to give him kind of an evil eye and started clicking at him angrily. I was laughing and saying, "We should have brought the camera, Madeline would love this!" and Larry assured me we would be back. The woman disappeared, a moon rose and the wolf started running down the canyon in twilight and Larry pulled me to my feet. Our feet felt warm on the red sand of the canyon and we left, hand in hand, to follow the wolf.

Is it any wonder I slept in?
