The Passage by Justin Cronin . I tried. Story was intriguing. Writing was well done. But at 700 plus pages and considering the high "creepy" factor, I had to put it down just short of one hundred pages - I've got to spend time on other things. Bet it will make a great movie, though!
The Scarlett Thread by Francine Rivers
This was a stellar book. Francine Rivers is such a strong and gifted storyteller. Enjoyed this dual story. Young wife adjusting to her husbands meteoric rise in the tech industry in California and them growing apart. Young girl coping with life's hard lessons on the Oregon trail from Galena, IL to California. The faith and bravery of those pioneers just astounds me.
Shadow and Silk by Elizabeth Lowell International intrigue with a spiritual component. The azure silk from Buddha's robe has been taken from it's rightful place amongst the Azure Monks in Tibet. I dreamed of prayer flags and Tibet and temples in high clear mountain air. If that isn't worth the price of this paperback, I don't know what is. : < )
