[There's this little thing called building the excitement, Herz.
But... wow. All the sketchbooks he's seen here so far don't look like anyone made them at all; they're all shin and weird and perfect in the wrong way. Herz is lucky that Link is excited anyway.]

[It's not very late in the day when Herz knocks on Link's door, but he's still guilty for making the kid wait. Especially considering he called him and everything.
Honestly, he's just happy for a chance to see him that isn't another a response to some terrible shit going down. Things feel like they're taking a turn for the right.]
[True to his word, he's waiting patiently with a blanket and a pillow once Herz shows up to collect him. Link could definitely say the same about being able to see Herz and not having a bad mood hanging over his head-- he's still not feeling anywhere near good, but it's better than he's been, that's for sure. His anticipation towards the idea shows on his face as he opens the door, immediately looking up and abandoning his pile to raise his arms for a spontaneous hug.]
[He quickly clings on tightly for a nice big squeeze back, unable to resist a little smile even if it's only halfhearted. It's better than not being able to smile at all in his opinion, anyway-- even if Link thinks Herz is very good at making him do that.
Link quickly shakes his head and gives Herz a firm look. It's meant to say something along the lines of "Herz, stop being silly and apologizing for having a social life". Outside of him, that is.]
[Uh oh. Now he's got a dilemma, you see-- he has his blanket and pillow, but they're all the way over there where he can't hug Herz and hold onto them at the same time. So either he has to abandon his embracing efforts, or his sleeping materials. THIS IS NOT AN EASY DECISION, CAN YOU TELL?
He stares intensely at his blanket and pillow, as though if he tries really hard he can tug them in his direction through sheer willpower alone. At least he's making some kind of effort.]
[Link, you don't mind being carried, right? Herz hooks one arm around the back of the little boy's knees and lifts him into the air. It's easy then to transfer him from his doorway to where he'd abandoned his sleep-aids.
What is it?

[You see that? That is Link's way of subtly implying HERZ I'M ALLOWED TO SLEEP OVER RIGHT, TELL ME I CAN SLEEP OVER.]

I, uh, I-I gotta check in on someone, though, so. I--I mean, it shouldn't take long.
