This, uh...
this--th-this isn't the happiest topic. I, just, y'know, I--I-I don't want to ruin anyone's mood so--so...
So--so yeah, heads up.
...Death isn't permanent here? There--th-there's a system that brings us back if something happens to us. But...I-I mean, we have something like death. When--w-when a person leaves, when they're just--j-just suddenly gone, there's...no telling if--i-if they'll be back on this voyage with--w-with us.
It happens. People--p-people do come back. I--I-I can--I-I can attest for that, just...they won't...remember us. What--what we did together or--o-or really...anything that happened here.
So...I-I mean...essentially the people we--we knew really...are gone.
...Okay, so-s--so there's a--a-a point to this, I'm not just--
I--I-I'm not just...filling the comms with this sad stuff without reason.
I just--I--
I-I think we--we--w-we should...remember them. Honor them. Like...I-I dunno, not a funeral. Not something so--so sad, just...doing something t-to--to--
[Get to the point, Herz.]
Doing...something in--in their memory. And-a-and not just the people on the boat. People we miss at--at home, too. Ones we haven't seen--that haven't--h-haven't shown up here.
...So...yeah.
There's--th-there's a crap load of candles in Sergei's right now. You're...free to-t-to come and light one and think about somebody. O-Or not. Or not.
((ooc: Candles of all shapes and sizes are set on the tables at the far end of Sergei's, deck nine. 21 are already lit; fifteen for the friends Herz can remember to miss, two for his previous selves, and four for people from home he assumes he'll never see again.
This is also foreward dated so not to interfere with
Kate's latest post.))
