Finding You chapter two
Kyungsoo walks towards the local dukbokki street vendor -well not really local considering it took him two busses and a short train ride to get here but it feels local to him- aimlessly drifting under the red cover and through the translucent door flap with all the other hungry costumers
"DO KYUNGSOO!" an old ahjumma yells when he enters, it's the same woman from all the years he's been coming to this stand. "How are you, eating well, how's your mother, are you okay?" the continuous string of questions is something Kyungsoo's used to answering them quickly and smoothly.
"Good, not really, happy-not with me-, and could be better." he shrugs and the woman tsks at him coldly,
"Kyungsoo~ aigoo what would you be like if i wasn't running this stand!" she scolds with a warmer tone than earlier. Kyungsoo shrugs again and smiles at the warmth of this particular ahjumma
"Dukbokki please, and some fish cakes." Kyungsoo takes out 6000 won and hands it to the ahjumma who prepares his dukbokki as he eats fish cakes. The food at this stand was always better than others, but then he thinks maybe it was the people that made it better. Then if almost instantly the memory of him and Kai's first date slaps him in the face.
* "Yah! Kim Jongin why are you making me wait this long it's been an hour we're just going for dukbokki its not a fancy dinner!" he shouts from the other side of Kai's bedroom door, it hasn't really been an hour but it sure feels like it especialy when he really just wants to hug his beautiful boyfriend.
"Calm. your. tits." Kai's response making Kyungsoo step back a little but he can hear the evident smile in his voice, " I'm done!" the moment of truth, Kai opens the door and what Kyungsoo sees is a angel. Kai wears a black button up dress shirt with a pair of black jeans, fuck Kyungsoo never thought someone could make his dick stand by wearing different clothes. "You okay cutie?" Kai smirks down at Kyungso
"Y-yeah all good," he stumbles over his words because right now he's just trying to get the dirty images of Kai out for now. "Let's go!" he grabs a startled Kai and runs full speed out the door of Kai's tiny apartment. *
The memory stops then, because the next part is too painful, all the good memories are always the worst for him, the bad ones are okay because at least they make him feel like he wont miss Kai, is Ka but sometimes they're just as bad because even Kai's flaws are perfect. Perfect flaws what a joke Kyungsoo thinks as he walks to the closest coffee shop after eating picking up a news paper on the way hoping to find some job listings maybe
As he opens the door the smell floats past of espresso and cookies. Then he looks up, a boy but not just any boy Kai's best friend Taemin. Kyungsoo didn't know he worked here. "Taemin..." he starts when he gets to the counter to order his coffee.
"Kyungsoo!" Taemin looks surprised to see the older, never mind in the shape he's in "Are- are you okay Kyungsoo?" Taemin asks worriedly. Kyungsoo mumbles and asks for a double shot half caff mocha latte.
"I'm okay i guess.." Taemin stares questioning him as he puts in his order, Kyungsoo can tell he's going to ask someone to take over while he tries to talk to him about....
"Hey, Luhan take over for me for a minuet will you?" he gestures to said boy one of Kai's other friends and Sehun's boyfriend.
"Sure Tae, i can help the next person in line!" Luhan shouts as he steps in for Taemin. Kyungsoo grabs his latte and sits down followed by Taemin.
"Kyungsoo, man you don't look so good, are you still living with your mom?" he asks with worried eyes
"Yeah i am, I'm looking for a job now though.." He starts not willing to look up at Taemin again feeling the pitying expression he hates so much.
"We're hiring~!" Taemin sings happily after hearing the news of Kyungsoo's new ambitions, even though he's not sure about how working at the coffee shop will work as there are so many memories here too but he might as well give it a try.
"You sure? I mean i can always find somewhere else, and like a lot of people are hiring and it's really no trouble for me to-" Taemin cuts off his excuses,
"Kyungsoo hyung, i know this place has some, unfortunate memories but just give it a try i know your mom will be happy." Taemin has always been able to read minds and he never calls Kyungsoo hyung unless he is trying to bribe him, he decides to give in
"Okay i'll try."
"YES ~" Taemin is really happy to have Kyungsoo working at the coffee shop, he says there are lots of cute guys that come in all the time, he tells him about one boy in particular named Lay, his real name isn't Lay it's Yixing but anyway. Kyungsoo starts to hope that maybe he can start over but then laughs at the outrageous idea, Kai would never let that happen. Not ever.
A/N: again another short chapter but i feel like if the chapter is shorter i update sooner due to the shortness of the previous chapter. so! i hope this one is good too! i really like this story so far, it's more my style i write mostly fluff or smut and this deep angsty depressing stuff is really interesting for me to write unlike the others~ haha this will have future flashback smut but i'll keep the first one brief so it's gradual , :
