Five o'clock in the morning is ridiculously early for Tess these days. That doesn't mean she's not on time - ten minutes early, in fact - she's just not in the best of moods. And all too well aware that her opinion on the time of day and the way she's feeling doesn't mean a damn thing.

At least it's almost light out.

Waller was already there, of course, when Tess arrived, but she made her wait until five. It's not about being early. It's about being on time.

"Agent Mercer," she calls as she steps into the warehouse, "glad you finally decided to join us."

"Agent Waller," Tess replies by way of greeting, gaze trained carefully on the other woman. "I had a few loose ends to tie up. My apologies for the delay."

"I have a job for you," she says, waving Tess' apology and holding out a file, "you have five days."

Of course she'll make Tess come to her. Keeping her expression neutral, Tess does just that and takes the file, opening it to briefly peruse the contents.

This was... interesting.

"I'll see you in five days."
