I went to tennis camp last week. I've been going to this camp for like, years. It's just a one-week camp, 9 to 4, and it's the same every year, except the people. Our family has a long history with this camp too. All my tennis-playing brothers and sisters (Okay, only 4 out of the five) go through the city's tennis program, play for the team, then court attend (make sure the courts don't run away) and then be an instructor. There is to be no change in tradition. Even though our tennis coach (head o' summer tennis, tho' he doesn't do anything, and the varsity tennis coach for me.) changed his lecture on serving from "You could lose to a tree stump of you don't get your serve in" to, "You could lose to a park bench if you don't get your serve in." It was real shocking. I had been losing to a tree stump all this time, and suddenly now I'm losing to a park bench? His lecture's are the same every year, too. Actually, he doesn't say anything BUT the same things over again.
Anyways, it was fun. Always is pretty good. I was so sore afterwards, but soreness always makes you feel like you're building muscle, ya know? But a few days of doing absolutely nothing cured that. I got along best with the young 'uns, around 7th-grade. Except for when they started singing theme songs around lunchtime. That was bad. I mean, I love my childrens show theme songs, but only in small doses. And when I'm doing the singing, then I can sing as long, and loud, as I want. The only other people I got along with where the counselors, and a couple boys around my age. There were a bunch of girls in my grade, but the kind of girls I despise. Ya know, peppy, obnoxious, loud, giggly, act-like-they-are popular. There were terrible at tennis, too, I was the only girl that was any good. Made me get a big head, I was better then almost all of the 48 people there. But soon I get to go back to the high school team and lose again. Our team isn't great (I mean, I was on varsity on my freshman year, that doesn't say much for it, does it? Well, I suppose it could, I could be really amazing at tennis. But I'm not. I'm pretty good.) but it's still really fun. I love tennis.
Tennis is so fun. Ya know what is not? Softball. I despise softball. I have a bit of a grudge against it. It's boring, and ALL, every single softball coach, think it is so important, like it matters so much. Self-important jerks. But let's not get into that.
