I was under the impression that absinthe (Made from the bark of the wormwood tree) was illegal when sold in a form that is meant for human consumption?

Customs decided that it's illegal to be sold in the U.S., but they won't prevent you from owning a bottle. In Europe, Absinthe is sold, but at a tenth of its famed potency. However, there are a few Czech companies that sell it the way it used to be made. I've heard of a few people able to import the bottles for personal consumption, but they go for $200 and up.
