DALLAS!!!!!!!

Jul 14, 2005 03:41

Well, the past couple of days have been awesome! I'm really glad that I got away from home and out of town...I think it's done me some good, and has also given me a lot of time to think about a lot of things that I probably wouldn't have otherwise thought about...of which I probably won't discuss on here, but if something is pertaining to you, I'm sure I'll be letting you know soon enough.

I arrived in Flower Mound about 10ish PM Tuesday evening at Claire's house. We got something to drink (blah...she tried to get me to drink peach tea), and called Lindsay. We decided to meet Lindsay, Jecca, Cornelius, and Flo at Lindsay's house in Plano...damn long trips. Anyway, we finished off the evening by 2:30 by going to Jasmine's, a local hooka bar.

Today however was a long day in and of itself. Claire and I woke up, ate breakfast, and she showered while I watched some television. We played piano for a good bit (and listened to her sister Kelly play as well) before heading off for our day's festivities. We ended up going to Reunion Tower (which was free as the ticket machine was malfunctioning) and was incredible because, once we were at the top, it started raining...and some of you out there know I'm a huge sucker for rain.

Our next stop was to the Galleria in Dallas proper. We spent about 3-4 hours just roaming the stores of the three-floor facility...something I've come to realize: If you don't look like you're made of money, not even people at Pottery Barn in the Dallas Galleria will give you the time of day.

We left there only to go to White Rock Lake while we awaited the arrival of Kyrsten. We ended up meeting her at the Cafe Brazil...not so great food, but the coffee looked awesome. It's something that I definitely must try on my next trip down here.

The next stop on our list was Mockingbird Station where we started to go see an independent film, but then decided against it as we didn't have too much time left until we were to meet up with Lindsay. We opted for Starbucks (one can never go wrong with that), and I had the new green tea frap. I definitely have to say it was delicious, and would strongly recommend it to anyone willing to try.

We called Lindsay a bit later about 10:30 only to find out that she got off work earlier than she was supposed to. She told us she didn't want to go to the club with us...so we proceeded to get directions from a group of gay men that we saw walking around Mockingbird Station (thanks to the ever-amazing presence of Claire *albeit sans balls*). Kyrsten couldn't go as it was getting late, so Claire and I set off for quite the experience...

We arrived at Studio 4 and found it mostly deserted, only to later discover everyone else was in another room of the club watching a drag show. We watched for a while, then went back out to the dance floor. We opted for seats overlooking the floor (the setup was similar to Babylon...if that makes sense to anyone out there) to watch the Wednesday Night ass-shaking contest.

Finally after it was over, Claire and I danced three or four times, finally introducing her to the wonderful world of dancing to techno. Granted I'm trained in ballet and not freestyle, but had fun nevertheless, and were joined a few times...quite interesting to be joined in by total strangers...

We left the club under the impression we were going to find Lindsay (who ditched us to go to a party) in Richardson...needless to say the directions she gave us were invalid, and we came back to Claire's house in Flower Mound...where I sit and type this now. However, no more thoughts tonight and Claire is out of the shower and would like to sleep.

UPDATE

Claire helped me edit this at 1pm today...it had some horrible grammar flaws. Now they should be fixed. :-)
