You know us four-month olds love you, but I think most of us can understand the distinction you're making. :-) Hope you're having fun at work!

If I may be so presumptious, as one of the four month ones I don't find it offensive. It works the other way as well. Even in my fraternity there are guys I consider closer to me than others.

Okay so I thought I'd go back and read some of your old posts after I met you this weekend and I see this:

Growing up I spoke quite a bit of Choctaw (which to my dismay I forgot most of what I knew)

Too bad you still don't speak it! I could've used your expertise for some Choctaw translating when my Mom and I run across it in genealogy research (I have a smidge of Choctaw blood).

If you don't mind my asking (as I am "younger" than the 4-mo buddies *grin*), why did you grow up speaking Choctaw?

Well, my great-grandmother is really prominant in the Choctaw circles in SE Ok arould Kennedy (no longer exists...but my family cemetary is still there),Heavener, Talihena (sp?), and the like. My great-grandmother's (we call her Kingfish) first language was Choctaw. Anyway, mum grew up in that area as well, and spent quite a bit of time with my great grandmother, thus picking it up. Well, mum was heavy into beadwork/pow-wow circuits, so I got it from several angles...I really miss that aspect of my life, but hopefully somday I may be able to pick it back up.
