Opportunities
So things are interesting right now. My contract with Microsoft ends on June 4th. So I am starting to ramp down and get all my stuff finished so I can get it passed off to other people. So that is taking up most my time at work. I have a ton of stuff to shove into a two week period.
Also, today I have an interview with www.smartdesktop.com in downtown Seattle. Somebody I use to work with on my other team here at Microsoft left here a few months ago to work for them and seems to really enjoy it. He sent me an email last week asking if I knew anybody that was looking for a test position. I let him know that my contract was about up, and he prompted me to send him my resume. The next day I got an email from them to set up a phone interview. Went through that and now I am coming in for a face-to-face interview.
But to make things more complicated, on of the test leads on another team sent me an email yesterday to have me come talk to him about "opportunities" here at Microsoft. So it looks like they may be courting me for full-time employment. Its nice to have options right now. Because even if I don't get work at either place, I can spend all summer living on unemployment and savings. I had the forethought to put enough money away to be able to do that.
So things are happening right now. We will see in the next week just how much they are happening.
