but, vote tomorrow. you have no real reason why not to.....well, unless your not registered....and if you arent, seriously dude....don’t bitch when shit doesn’t go your way. tomorrow is an important time to vote....just with every election....vote. just do it.
a special election was organized by Governor Schwarzenegger, yes its a complete waste of money instead of waiting till next year.....but, nothing can stop this now.....but, since he knew it wasn’t a big election and to make it an important one he went ahead and put up prop 73.
this is from the voter guide of CA
PROPOSITION 73
WAITING PERIOD AND PARENTAL NOTIFICATION BEFORE TERMINATION OF MINOR'S PREGNANCY. INITIATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.
Amends California Constitution, prohibiting abortion for unemancipated minor until 48 hours after physician notifies minor's parent/legal guardian, except in medical emergency or with parental waiver.
Defines abortion as causing "death of the unborn child, a child conceived but not yet born."
Permits minor to obtain court order waiving notice based on clear, convincing evidence of minor's maturity or best interests.
Mandates various reporting requirements.
Authorizes monetary damages against physicians for violation.
Requires minor's consent to abortion, with certain exceptions.
Permits judicial relief if minor's consent coerced.
Proposition 73 is just the latest attempt by right-wing conservatives to take away a woman's right to choose. This dangerous measure would jeopardize the health of our teenagers, when we should instead be focusing our efforts on preventing teen pregnancy. Prop. 73 unwisely tries to legislate family communication and unrealistically expects teenagers to navigate through a cumbersome and confusing judicial process.
As the San Francisco Chronicle said in their editorial opposing Prop. 73, "The way to reduce abortion is not a law that requires frightened young women to either face a judge or the wrath of their parents. It's about increasing communication-about sex, about choices, about consequences-that prevents an accidental pregnancy in the first place." Vote NO on 73.
In all honesty.....those who need to get an abortion and under the age of 18....aren’t the type of kids who have a healthy relationship with their parents to begin with. I am 22 and if I got preggers now....I am still afraid to tell my folks. we have a pretty healthy relationship....but, all that shit does down the drain once I tell daddy I got knocked up. I am sure he would be over joyed if a few certain things have happened before hand like me at least finishing school....but, yeah. my point is...if you are going in for an abortion....you probably aren’t gonna blab on about it to everyone because that is the soul decision of the mother....and no one else. regardless of age and upbringing. if she doesn’t want the baby....I don’t think she wants her parents to know she was preggers in the first place.
Pleas vote NO on this prop. A vote NO for prop 73 is best for women’s health and rights.
as for all of the other props.....read up on them at
voter guide of CA its a non biased informative website that has info for all of the props that are goin up tomorrow.
PLEASE vote....it is soOo important to do so.
