I had a very nice evening watching a bit of James Bond last night. The last movie that I went to see prior was Batman Begins, so I don't get out to the theater that often. A few observations:

People are in general, asshats. Saving seats for people who never show is poor taste. Checking your blinding cellphone several times during the last ten minutes of the film, also in poor taste. I felt sorry for the man with the uber-annoying girl who could not stay in her seat for more than 10 minutes at a time due to her texting drama. Also, my father and sister cannot watch a movie in silence, we are not in MST3K people. I suppose every couple of years is good for a reminder of why we wait for DVD releases. Does 'digital' mean that there is now a reel of commercials about bad TBS tv shows for about 40 mins before the actual film? I missed the silly slideshow.

The movie itself was a bit of a treat. I've watched all the Bond movies at least twenty times each thanks to my father and I know the formula. It was pleseantly tweaked here. I wasn't a huge fan of the Bournc films, I think Matt Damon has the personality of a pencil eraser, but I can see where they influenced this film. I'm in favor of having the hero bleed and there were squibs aplenty here. The romance went on too long and the film needed to have about 20 mins cut out, but I wasn't yawning or bored.

Frankly, any of the reviewers that complain that Daniel Craig wasn't handsome enough need their eyes checked. I'd pay to just watch him loll in the sun in those swim trunks for 2 1/2 hours. YUMMY.

At least I got out of having to watch damn dancing penguins. I have my dignity thank you.
