Not married

I know the pictures say other wise but Keely and I aren't engaged or married. We bought the rings because some worrisome mother thought it would be wise to get wedding bands because married traveling couples are more accepted here than dating couples. We have been away almost two weeks and I think the married couple thing is horse shit.

Penom Phen is a beutiful city along a nice river definitly a much more laid back experience compared to bangkok. Today we went on a tour of the Killing Fields and the S 21, which was the high school converted to a semi concentration camp... More like a death camp. I don't think the purpose of this place was a labour camp. At the killing fields you can see a monmument made up of more than 8000 skulls of victims and as you walk around can see mass graves, which also still contain the bones and clothes of the victims. S-21 was a museum set up to show the devastation of that khmer rouge inflicted upon their victims. They photographed and took bios of everyone that was in there. So not only did we see the skulls of the victims but we got to put a face to them as well. Not a very happy day. If you would like to know more about this you can consult your local library or rent the movie "the killing fields".

Later on in the evening we got catch a cambodian rock concert. It was very confusing because everything was staged and the singing was dubbed over by a audio track. It must have been goverment staged. No one clapped after the performers finished and no one seemed to be into the music enough to dance. Keely wanted to have a dance off but we didn't want to upstage the performers.

tommorrow we take a bus south to the coast to the town of shinouk ville. finally some beaches and sun just what I was looking for on this trip.
we will be there a while roughly two weeks. Hopefully after a few days we will have some more pictures for you.

Love Keely and Kevin
