Today was great, went to see East Kentwood and Grandville High Schools play hockey today. They were awesome. Intense rivalry, great goals, and hard hits. Some of the best I've seen in a long time. Afterwords, stayed to see the Grand Rapids Griffins play the Milwaukee Admirals. I've never been to anything this high ranking before. All the guys looked pretty big... then again it could have been because I had just gotten done watching high school kids and these are guys who are payed to play. This is their life. It was an amazing game, started with actual fireworks inside Van Andel and ended with 19 seconds left in overtime with a great goal by the Griffins to win it 5-4. I got to see Jordin Tootoo play. He I believe was like one of the only inuit to play NHL hockey, he's down in the minors now, but i still thought it was pretty cool to see him. He used to play for the Predators and is up and down from the Admirals. There were some really brutal hits too, one guy I swear is a permanent part of the rink ad now, he totally got rocked off his ass! It was the greatest hit I've ever seen. We got there and my buddy was having trouble getting his tickets early so this radio station guy over heard and just gave us 4 VIP tickets to the platform RIGHT BEHIND the opposing teams goal. So we got to sit like right next to the guy in the booth. Came home through a nice little blizzard and watched Phantom of the Opera. Anyway, I'm tired so I'm headed to bed. Night all!
