some slices of me

I spent a while this last weekend working on the electric scooter: cleaning the battery terminals, kludging another fix for the recalcitrant relay, trying to tighten the loose control connector, and putting a connector in the middle of the charger cable so it's less of a hassle. This seemed to make it happier. With all the power-carrying cables and connectors clean and tight it had more pep and more mileage. So I tried taking it to work today, but a few blocks from work, after I went over a pothole, it died. This time it was just a battery cable that'd shaken off. (It has these weird battery connectors of questionable design.) So I rode it home, and a few blocks from home it went into its "plummeting Aut. / Err2" behavior. Which might mean my relay fix didn't take. I'll have to disassemble it again to see. Phooey.

I am going to CodeCon this next weekend, which I hope will be interesting. I fear that I (being kind of quiet and wallflowery even by geek standards) will not enjoy myself. But I'll see, eh?

The short SF film festival last weekend was good, BTW. Both showings sold out the Cinerama, which apparently took the organizers by surprise.

Hookworms may cure hay fever. Truly, 2006 will be the Year of the Parasite.
