Seven Day Hiatus

I missed the entire first week of June in discussing the various facets of my life? How sad.

I finished my final week doing the Project GRAD program at Dillard University. The kids still have another week and a half, but I had to end my participation due to Ninth Grade Academy starting on Monday. A part of me is glad to be rid of the sophomores. Some of them are just so...immature. Granted, I should cut them some slack being as they are only in high school, but I do compare them to myself at their age and wonder what they're problem is. Yesterday, we went on a tour of Xavier University, and we were with this other group of kids from Monroe. Our bunch kept talking here and there, and finally one of my kids said "I don't think the tour guide likes us. He keeps talking to the other group." I snapped and pretty much said what did you all expect. Those kids aren't talking, they aren't goofing around, and they are listening. In fact, I'm actually embarrassed to be with you all right now.

That got them quiet, and their behavior for the most part improved.

I went on a date with this guy in the Quarter the other day, and it went so-so. Don't think it's going to go anywhere which is fine. As we were talking, there were too many disagreements on numerous issues. What I liked he didn't and vice versa. I know opposites supposedly attract, but if we can't enjoy the same things then what is the point. Oh well. My single status continues.

A part of me wants to go to Octavia bookstore and see what they have in stock to purchase. I keep buying books to read, and I've read a great deal over the past few weeks. Hmmmm....
