There once was a garden filled with the most beautiful flowers in the whole countryside. One day in the garden two seeds were planted right next to each other. These two seeds did evertyhting together. They got watered together, they laid in the sun togehter, they even soaked up the same nutrients from the soil. One day, as seeds will do, they started to grow. At first they were both thin sprouts and they were so happy for each other. They still did everything together, and both encouraged the other to become bigger and even more beautiful. Finally a day came and the two realized that they were not the same plant. One was a Oak sapling and the other a delicate rose. Both understood the differences but insisted that they would stick by each others side. For many seasons the oak continued to grow bigger and the rose shone even more beautiful every bloom. The rose and oak had many good times together and loved each other very very much. One spring, just as he had always done, the oak tree begain to grow his leaves back, and the roses petals begain to blossom. Only this time, the oak had grown so big, his canopy begain to overshadow all of the surrounding plots, including the rose. The rose pleaded with the oak "please! do not grow anymore or you will surely drown me out." You see, the two had always shared everything, but now the oak was so large he blocked most of the sunlight and rain with his canopy, and his long roots drained the soil of nutrients much quicker than the rose. The oak wanted to grow but he loved and valued the rose so he decided to stay the same. for many years the rose lived in a small crack in the roots of the oak, the oak giving much of his needed nutrients to the rose. One day, just as the rose had noticed the oak, the oak noticed the other trees were getting very large and were almost overshadowing him! The oak was now faced with a tough decision: continue to grow despite the rose, or join the rose and become drown out by the other trees. Well you know what the oak decided that day. He did not want to see the rose wither away, but he did not want them both to meet to same fate at the hands of the other trees. That day the oak decided to grow. That oak is standing tall and mighty somewhere in a forest. But he will always have that small crack in his root to remind him of his beloved rose.
