Does anybody have a job to offer an older woman? I assure you, I'm plenty experienced, although I've been out of the workforce for many years now and my options are limited to things that don't involve dealing with young children or standing on my feet for eight hours. I would prefer flexible shifts but I'm in no position to pick and choose.

What about a travel agent? You can't exactly leave this place, but you're pretty good at getting people to go where you think is best for them.

Not all of us are used to having maids. Some of us just like the lived-in feel.

And some of us like a set of clean, un-faded draperies. The old ones are going.

There's nothing wrong with the way they are. They aren't dirty. They got washed. Just because they aren't made of silk and lace doesn't mean they need to get thrown out.
