Otter creek was awesome, here are the highlights:
~ I showered in a Waterfall.
~ I got to spend the weekend with some really cool people.
~ My brand new pack is extremely comfortable and big enough to put everything I need in it.
~ We had a blazing fire, both nights.
~ Swimming in the creek and sunbathing on rocks.
~ Not being murdered in my sleep by the knife wielding creepy man.
~ Watching the crayfish carry pasta noodles home. (I washed our dishes in the creek, and there were some noodles left on the plate and pan when I was rinsing. I let the noodles go, assuming that they would float downstream but the crayfish had different plans. Within 10 minutes there were atleast 15 crayfish and they all had pasta in their claws. Some were tiny and swimming upstream with noodles longer than themselves, others just sat still and munched. It was a hilarious site to see. (Dave fed them pepperoni and I hear they liked it better than pasta, but I didn't witness it.
~ Jen made candle holders out of rocks and we lit the field around us with tealights at night. They made crazy designs in the dark meadow around us.
~ Being constantly active and surrounded by beauty. (This was the best part and I am glad that Jay was there to experience it).
~ Being back at the car by 12:00 since at that time it was already 86 degrees.
Last night Jay and I melted into the couch, literally. Our house was closed up all weekend, except for some windows upstairs, so when we got home it was mighty hot on the first floor and not much better upstairs. I love that it was 58 degrees early last week while yesterday and today it has been 92.
Tomorrow is already Wednesday, even though it felt like Monday, but is not close enough to Friday. Can't I call in gay?
