IT HURTS LIKE HELL. At least, the first time it's felt, at least a little bit, for those tuning in with Soul Perception. That's because Death's soul is very large and very powerful. Surprise surprise. It's also straining against something (Vatheon's barriers), so there's a hint that it's much larger than shown.
But once the initial headache passes, it's clear that Death is a very gentle person, surprisingly, and fair. There's a wisdom in there from ages of living.
3. If you have some defining physical traits, those may appear as well. Go ahead and mention a general feel for what the soul is like as well, and mention anything else you think would be apparent.
Death's soul is a pale gray, save for her ankh which is always prominent. The faint image of feathers on her 'sides', and there will always be the sound of wings whenever he glances at it.
Also! The more he uses Soul Perception, the more her soul subtly shifts to reflect his a little bit. This will be just to him; everyone tends to see a bit of their soul in her when they look, but just theirs. IF THAT MAKES ANY SENSE.

Lea's soul is very bright and loyal. Whenever he's near someone he cares dearly about, his soul gets a bit more energetic and it's blindly obvious he would do anything (seriously) for them. Since he's been getting hit in his confidence, he's not as arrogant as usual. Kid should also be able to tell he plays a fool some of the time, and is smarter than he acts.

Did I mention Lea is bright? His soul has a very fiery color to it, and in general appearance. A part of his facial tattoo is on his soul as well. Besides the fiery color, Kid may also see some faint swirls of purple in there from time to time. Lea practices magic, but he isn't a witch.

Yes, he does. And also? So do all the snakes he carries on his person. :|a

His soul is really rather lonely, but takes comfort in the few people he can trust- his snakes, mostly. He's desperately loyal to the point of foolishness, but quick witted and somewhat cold.

While Snake's friends all have varying souls, his own is a pale green color, with scales here and there.

Only a part of his goof-off act is a real part of his personality. He's hopeful, but smart and more experienced than he looks.

His soul has his hair. :|a And is also covered with a bunch of scars! Yet it still remains hopeful. There is a faint smell of geraniums when it's viewed.

Just a little bit haughty, just a little bit hot tempered, but cold and loyal.
However! There is another soul hers is engulfing, the Guardian Force Pandemona. Think of it similar to Crona and Ragnarok. She keeps this little friend locked way down tight, however. But it's strong, Kid should be able to deduce that much.

Besides the above, hers is pale blue, and one eye is missing. His is purple, with yellow markings here and there. There is there's always the sound of wind.
