Ta'a Chume is...a difficult woman, to say the least. Polite, disdainful, and calculating, she's a ruthless woman who will scheme and plot and murder in order to receive what she wants, and what she wants is power. Subtlety is no stranger to her, and Ta'a Chume can carry herself easily with the grace and regality of a queen while discretely placing a knife in your back. She is poised, not prone to bouts of temper or disdainful acts of character, and she has arrogance in spades. Ta'a Chume believes herself to be untouchable, and because of that, it takes a hell of a lot of energy to get her immaculate feathers ruffled.
She usually has an ace along with a dagger up her sleeve, and can premeditate and assume most actions of those around her. Life in a Hapan court has taught Ta'a Chume the delicate art of subterfuge and disdain and disdainful subterfuge. She will manipulate and twist situations to her advantage, and if something is not to her advantage, it's only a matter of time before it is...removed from her presence. She has no reservations to murdering or blackmail for political gain, and her shrewd mind usually knows which pawns need to be claimed in the overall game.
Ta'a Chume also has an innate hatred of pacifism and inaction, which lends itself to her tremendous prejudices against Jedi and organizations like them. Peace is an excuse given by the lazy, and Ta'a Chume is a firm believer in aggressive negotiations. She will not stand for those who cannot take a stand for themselves, and considers them weak and removeable.
Along with her bias towards Jedi, it could be said that Ta'a Chume is also sexist towards men. She finds them to be lazy, dimwitted, and incapable in positions of leadership. While she doesn't respect other people, she could grow to respect a woman far more easily than a man, and practically froths at the mouth when she sees them in positions of power (WATCH OUT CID D8). Ta'a Chume finds them easily manipulated, and has no reservations with using her charm and still considerable beauty to do so.
Background:
Ta'a Chume was born to lead, literally, seeing as she was one of several daughters to Ni'Korish, the Queen of the Hapes Archipelago located somewhere indeterminate in the South Pacific. The Hapes Archipelago was a vast nation, consisting of 63 islands as well several landlocked colonies, and held a formidable navy and military force, mainly to combat the pirates that frequented the waters. Ni'Korish had a profound influence on her daughter, namely her intense hatred of Jedi and the belief that pacifism would lead to nothing but utter and complete ruin.
After several of her older sisters died in unfortunate and terrible pre-meditated jetski accidents, Ta'a Chume rose to become the Queen Mother of Hapes. Unlike most nations, Hapes held a very strong and honor-bond belief that a woman was to rule and control. Ta'a Chume took to this like a shark in blood-infested water, thriving on the power and control. She ruled Hapes with an iron fist in a Chenile glove, expanding their military and establishing more colonies. Eventually, seeing the tactical advantage of having an heir, Ta'a Chume took to finding a husband. However, everytime she attempted to marry, she found something very distasteful about her intendeds and organized a way to have them conviently smothered to death with pillows the night before their marriage. It took until about the third time before Ta'a Chume discovered that matrimony was perhaps not to her tastes and instead took a consort from one of Hapes' many elaborate and beautiful man-harems.
With her consort, or perhaps with a few of her consorts, Ta'a Chume had two children, Kalen and Isolder. It was to her ever painful disdain and irritation that both of them happened to be male. Ta'a Chume allowed her eldest son to grow up into his early twenties before deciding that he was unfit to rule and logically had him arranged to be kidnapped by pirates and executed. Isolder, her youngest son, went undercover as a privateer to discover the truth behind his older brother's murder. Ta'a Chume dug his moxy, and decided to name him as her heir apparent, or Chume'da.
His undercover mission a total bomb, Isolder returned to the palace of subterfuge and delicate assassinry, eventually falling in love with a Hapan noble, Elliar. Ta'a Chume, with her best interests at heart for her darling son of course, arranged to meet Isolder's intended. She found her to be too much of a hippie ruffian, and believed that Elliar's pacifist nature would bring nothing but ruin for Hapes once it was placed on the throne.
So Ta'a Chume arranged for Elliar to be assassinated by drowning in a decorative fountain.
Isolder was oblivious to the part his mother played in not only the death of his fiance, but also his brother, and continued to grieve in quiet.
Life on Hapes continued as normal for a few years, as Ta'a Chume spent her time divided between ruling an expansive island nation, indulging in fancy dresses and somewhat fancy male concubines, and politically assassinating immediate members of her family to protect her power. However, Hapes received a visitor that through a tackily-coiffed wrench into Ta'a Chume's elaborate plans.
Leia Organa, a young politician serving Britain's Ministry of Magic, came to visit Hapes in an attempt to develop friendly relations between the Hapan Royal house and the Ministry. Isolder saw her and immediately fell in love, much to Ta'a Chume's strong distaste of 'fuzzy wuzzies'. However, sensing an opportunity, Ta'a Chume allowed her son to make a proposal to her, seeing it as a way to ensure fealty. Isolder did so, and not shortly after Leia found herself the target of pirate assassins, as per the status quo. The assassination attempt was foiled by Isolder (one out of three isn't so terrible) but before Ta'a Chume had enough time to prepare another assassination that could not be remotely traced back to her, Leia was kidnapped by a roguish fool named Han Solo, who whisked her romantically away into the sunset of a far off island called Dathomir. Well, it would have been romantic, except Leia did not want to go and it was, in fact, a kidnapping.
Ta'a Chume, bound by the honor code of her people, unfortunately had to put all of her resources into finding the misplaced politician, using her various spy networks and intelligence. It was Isolder and Leia's brother Luke who found her and Han on Dathomir, and Ta'a Chume was more than her share of shocked that upon their return, Leia and Han were going to be married and Isolder had brought home...a Dathomirian harlot as a wife. Naturally, Ta'a Chume objected to the union, but Isolder's new bride, Teneniel Djo, used a hex on the Queen Mother and Ta'a Chume had to conceed that perhaps she did have the predisposition for ruling. It was still abundantly clear that Ta'a Chume held no love for her new daughter-in-law, and the hexing had most certainly not helped matters.
Isolder and Teneniel eventually had a daughter, Tenel Ka, who proved to be the one thing Ta'a Chume hated more intensely than hippies or post-dated fashion-- a Jedi. Tenel Ka was sent to the praexum in the South American jungle for training, and shortly thereafter Ta'a Chume abdicated her throne for tactfully unspecified reasons, leaving Teneniel as the new Queen Mother of hte Hapes Archipelago.
Remembering that charming woman who had brought utter ruin to her empire, Ta'a Chume decided that perhaps a temporary repreive from the Hapan court might bring her some perspective, and decided to apply for a position at Hogwarts teaching, of all things, law. Although her wonderful offer of instructing future generations seemed very sincere and heartfelt, Ta'a Chume had an ulterior motive for applying at Hogwarts-- to find a suitable replacement for Teneniel, and then have her assassinated.
Blood: Pure and beyond betterthanu
Preferred House: Hufflepuff :|
Okay. Not really. SLYTHERIN~
Why you think they belong in this house?
Ta'a Chume is the immaculate poster child for this House. She's ruthless, ambitious, cunning, manipulative, and bends more than her share of rules to ascend to power. Also, she politically assassinates people using decorative fountains. She doesn't quaffle around morality lines, and is like a firebolt when it comes to defending her position.
Staff Position: Law, years 6&7
Why you think they fit this position?
As a former ruler of a 63+ island archipelago, Ta'a Chume has more than her experience with the law and how to ignore it for her means impliment it, as well as passing on her refined knowledge to the future generations. Ta'a Chume would more than likely argue that she is quite over qualified for this job, thank you very much.
If Professor would you want them to be Head of House? Oh god yes.

['accidental' journal post]
Such delightful children we have attending this school. And apparently a ball is coming up, how very exciting! It's clear that there are several promising students, and I can forsee them taking promising dates as well. Orihime will attend with Sora, naturally. As shall Miria with that lovely Setsuna girl. James no doubt will find a promising pureblood, and Ms Haruno would be wise to attend with that charming Nobuo.
Oh, young love is such a privilage to witness, is it not?
I do wonder if Leia is going unescorted...
[locked to self]
Inept fools, all of them. If I have to withstand yet another journal post discussing arrangments for this pitiful excuse of a ball I will tear out my own hair.

"Let me insure that I'm hearing this correctly," Ta'a Chume said easily, almost like the comforting maternal figure she ought to be as she leaned forward on her desk, elbows most certainly not on the counter as she began to stir herself a cup of tea, "You wish for an extension on your assignment?"
The student swallowed almost painfully, "Y-yes ma'am."
"I see," Ta'a Chume added a cube of sugar, two. The boy broke out into a fop sweat, "Is there any justification for placing you above your peers, Mr. Dudeson?"
"I-I had a funeral to go to-"
"Such a thing is common place these days," Ta'a Chume countered airly, all too familiar with funerals for close family members seeing as she usually scheduled them about a week before her family members were actually dead, "To indulge yourself in grief and self-pity is an incredible character flaw, Mr. Dudeson. I'd advise you to disperse such childish inadequacies before you see your final marks."
Mr. Dudeson turned and fled the office.
Ta'a Chume took a delicate sip of tea.
Earl Grey. Simply delightful.
