Hmm...

There's something about suddenly arriving in a strange room after dying that's discomforting; I wasn't even aware that the dead could be resurrected, and I doubt that I'm alive, since I remember my last moments quite clearly. Still, perhaps I'm fortunate to be here, though it's impossible to say when I have no idea where I am ( Read more... )

I know precisely how that feels, you're not alone. Some people who arrive here have died, and some just turned the wrong corner I guess. No one knows for certain how it works, other than some powerful magic is involved.

Welcome to Wonderland~

Interesting. Even on Auldrant the closest to reviving the dead is replication, so I imagine that whatever was involved had to have been incredible in comparison.

Hm, from the sound of it, 'Wonderland' is a fitting name.

What's more impressive that it keeps happening. I mean, if you were to die here again, Suzaku forbid it of course, you would revive after a short period of time.

So death is temporary within this place? In a way, I suppose it's convenient, though I imagine that it would make things difficult for others.

If you wanted to be morbid, you could say that it's just another way to keep people trapped here... Leaving Wonderland, unfortunately, isn't easy.

I prefer not to be morbid however, I like to think of it as a vacation~ My name is Nuriko, by the way. And yours?

So in a way, despite its convenience, this world is keeping us prisoner? Hmm...

Yes, it may prove a decent 'vacation', so long as the people here can make their own decisions instead of being shackled to only one possible future.

In that case, my name is Ion.

I have heard of people leaving, but of course they never stick around long enough to tell the rest of us how they managed it.

Hmm, not a big fan of destiny, I take it.

Pleasure to meet you, Ion~

Perhaps they have no say in whether they leave or not; if this mansion is able to bring people here so easily, who is to say that it can't return them?

Destiny and the Score are two entirely different things.

On Auldrant, Yulia's Score serves as a way to read the future, but the people have taken its contents to such a literal level. Many believe that the only way to make the simplest decisions is to consult it, even relying on it to choose their meals.

Wars are waged in order to remain accurate, regardless of the cost. The people have no free will at all...

You're probably right, I'm still just a little sore about it.

...that sounds awful.

Well, perhaps you have reasons to be.

Awful is a hideous understatement. By taking Yulia's teachings to such an extreme, the people have become nothing but trash. It's very rare, if not impossible, to find those who aren't Score loyalists, and most that are against it are too fearful to stand up against it, as, to many, it would be unacceptable.

It's true I died, but I was kind of in the middle of something important.

Sounds like you didn't have a problem standing up against it though, that's good...though I'm sorry you wound up here when it sounds like there's still work to be done.
