[The gear comes in and Ciel can be seen from behind looking into the entrance of the Ice Path. He's dressed quite warmly for the weather, but he's not taking any chances in there. Too many bad experiences. Beside him is Sebastian, dressed just warmly.]

Well let's get this over with.

Certainly Young Master. After you. [Sebastian bows and holds a ( Read more... )

[ After tucking Ciel's 'Gear away in an inside pocket of his coat, Sebastian folds his gloved hands behind his back and watches his master with a smile. He won't offer help again, not until Ciel's back on his feet. If the boy so insists, Sebastian will look on politely as he bloodies his hands and face on the ice. ]

Perhaps we might have invested in ice skates, young master?

While ice skates might prove useful, they'd also be quite the annoyance.

[He pushes himself onto his hands and knees and shoots a glare at Banette who has danced around behind Sebastian at this point. She knows the butler loves this kind of fun.]

[ Sebastian slips a hand out of its glove and fishes a Pokétreat from a spare pocket, which he holds behind his back for Banette. His smile remains inscrutable. ]

I simply thought you may have less trouble navigating the caves.

[Banette happily takes the treat shoving the whole thing into her zippered mouth.]

Until we came upon a non-icy section, and had to remove the skates. It'd be more troublesome in the end.

[Glancing around for anything to hold onto to help him up he frowned. He happened to not be near any walls. This was going be more difficult than he hoped.]

I could always carry you over the uniced terrain.

[ It's an innocent enough suggestion, and not necessarily exclusive to the non-icy ground. If Ciel grows tired of the ice, he's welcome to be carried. He knows this.

Sebastian regloves his hand, fussing briefly with the fur trim on the cuff. ]

When I want you to carry me I'll let you know.

[As appealing as that sounds, Sebastian has, of course, just now made it so at the very least Ciel will get across this stretch of ice on his very own.]

Of course.

[ Sebastian only watches Ciel for a moment longer before producing his own 'Gear from his pocket to check the network.

Look, Ciel. You're boring him. ]

Tch.

[Luckily you won't be bored for much longer, because Ciel makes another attempt at standing. It's rocky, yet he remains on his feet. However the ice is still slippery and he goes stumbling into the nearest wall, where he grabs hold before he can fall again.]

[ He looks up over the top of his 'Gear to watch. It's tempting to record Ciel under the guise of checking the network, but he honestly has no interest in attempted blackmail. ]

Shall we proceed?

Yes.

[He takes a couple of careful slow steps to make sure he's not about to fall again, and continues more confidently.]

I will take my 'gear back now.

[ Sebastian strides onto the ice with deceptive confidence, being very careful about how his feet fall. He is not about to make the same mistake Ciel did.

Approaching the boy, he offers the 'Gear and resists the urge to bump him. ]

[Good thing he resisted, because if Ciel fell again, Sebastian was coming down with him. He takes the gear and spends a moment checking it, walking carefully along the ice. He'd rather not linger.]

I'd like to be out of here in five days if possible. No longer than a week.

[No side trips, or pit stops.]

Of course.

[ Sebastian slows and shortens his strides to keep pace with Ciel. It's not difficult; rather, he's used to it. He doesn't point out that they'll travel faster if he carries the boy. ]
