[It's apparent from his voice that he isn't happy, but he's going along with it. He clears his throat, and mutters the following under his breath in German]

Sie sind alle Narren...

[He slams the phone down.]

I'd be careful with the German. I know for a fact that someone's already been re-educated for using it.

[Ema is trying to be helpful, even if her tone is awfully short.]

They...did? But why, how?

Why? I think it was something about subversive vocabulary.

How? No idea, although it sounds like it was a droning and then some.

I...I see. I have already heard of some people getting hurt, however I had no idea.

Perhaps I should stick to Hungarian if I need to speak in another language. At least that perhaps is acceptable considering Hungary was Soviet.

That might be a good idea, although considering how bizarre things are going I wouldn't put it past them to simply drone you anyway. Or something.

How have people gotten hurt, have you heard that? [She's noticed people with missing appendages/injuries of late, but has not had the chance to actually talk with any of apparent victims.]

I would like to see them try actually.

I don't know. All I know is it's happening somehow. One day they're fine, the next they're missing an arm. I haven't talked to anyone myself, but I have seen them

Try droning you, you mean?

I've seen them, too. I don't like it. At all.

J--Da.

It's a bit unnerving...seeing people you know like that.

Well, thank you anyway. If you find anything out, please let me know? My name's Ema Skye.

I will.

My apologies for not introducing myself earlier. I'm Austria, I also go by Österreich and Roderich Edelstein.

Thank you.

...Ah, so you're a country as well. Well, it's nice to meet you, Austria. You seem much more reasonable than the other country I've gotten to know, I'll say that much.

It's nice to meet you as well...even if we have talked on the phone before during Westport.

That we did. But I didn't catch your name then because everything was such a confused mess, so this is the first time we've been properly introduced.

We should maybe talk sometime that isn't a complete catastrophe, thinking about it...
