[Scout walks into the living room to see a pillow fort!]

Well this is new.

[Kikuri peeks out of the fort long enough to see Scout, then disappears back into it.]

I shoulda known that was you in there. So can I come in, or ain't adults allowed?

[She has to think about that one a moment. Then she shrugs.]

[He hunkers down, peering around inside, wondering if there was enough room for him before trying to go inside.]

Nice work. Me 'n' my brothers did this all the time. Drove my ma up the wall.

[She scoots back closer to the TV, providing just enough room for Scout to get inside, and keeps on staring like she does best.]

[He pulls up his knees to his chest to squeeze in.] Yeah! Ya know. My ma. Mother.

[Kikuri just shrugs. She doesn't really know. Sure she's seen mothers, but most of them were horrible people that just got sent to hell. Or creepy people in this town.]
