[When the video starts, Mai blinks a couple times to focus her attention, her expression is sullen, dark circles are under her eyes, her hair down and a mess that she obviously didn't want to deal with fixing up. Someone hasn't been getting any sleep lately, and her voice sounds low and annoyed.]

[During her pause, there's a rustling noise, the muffle of wind passing over the mic, and a distant shriek.]

[Hears that shriek and feels the blood drain from his face; sure, she's more than capable of handling her own but these Harpies ... they're not to be messed around with. Zuko's not even sure if he could take one on with his firebending, and as far as he's concerned-- attack one and they swarm as a pack.]

[Clearly she's irritated, and it sounds like she's moving for several moments before she adds quickly.]

[There was a long pause, minutes that probably stretched on longer given that it was obvious that she was fighting against Harpies.

When the feed kicks back in, it sounds like it's crackling, either from some kind of interference or just because there's something wrong with her communicator.

She sounds a little breathless, but her tone doesn't otherwise give away how thoroughly screwed she is at the point of her transmission.]

Are you seriously giving me a hard time about doing something dangerous?

[Zuko's just going to stand at a window and peer outside for any swooping harpies because ... swooping is bad.]

[Okay. So she's starting to realize that there were some problems with her original plan. Where ever she is, there's some persistent scraping of metal, and after a few moments, she grunts faintly just before the clash of metal striking against metal is heard. Soon followed by a piercing shrill that sounds too close.]

Well, I guess you'd be an expert on the subject. Ugh!

[With another grunt, there's another sound of metal clanging as she kicks out to cause the Harpy near her to cry out again before there's the sound of air passing as she runs.]

[He can't understand why she's talking to him AND fighting at the same time. And he doesn't like the sounds coming from her end of the communicator, the shrieks, the metal clashing together... the sound of her running to get away...

UGH. Feeling useless; sucks, bro.]

Okay. Yes. I can be reckless, and yes. I do do a lot of stupid things, but the one thing I don't do is go picking fights.
