[[Jason kind of totally fucks up dealing with people at the bar, and retreats to the completed upstairs room.]]

*He hears Jay's approach, and curls up tighter. He's seated on the bed, legs drawn up to his chest and chin resting on his knees ( Read more... )

Not what I was going or wanted to say. [he's going to lean on the doorway, getting streaks of dust on his skin in the process. He'll get closer only if you relax.]

Neither of you guys lost any respect from me. I appreciate you looking out for me and the bar, and parts of the situation was my fault. I should have warned you of who was going to be around. 'Couldn't have imagined Timbo finding me a soda spray, though.

*He sounds calm, even if he's still kinda curled up. You can come closer if you want.* It isn't even what he was doin' that bothered me. S'nice thing, c'n probably help the business... an' he meant well.

It's just... he came in an' changed things without asking. I couldn't... sometimes I still can't... handle people comin' into my space and changing things. Makes me panic, makes me upset. Didn't want that for you.

An' there the fact that it's goddamn Tim Drake again... *He's sort of ranting; and it's not about this particular Tim. More like his Tim. All Tims.*

[Jay comes closer, and sits on the bed, his feet on the floor.]

I'm... glad. That you're looking out for me. Thanks.

I think I'd like you to see the band together. They're- Dunno how to say. They have their own dynamic. And it's other people, not us. It kinda helps put things in perspective.

[then he smiles] Just a warning: there's a Tim that's around, about fourteen or so. He often has books. That's Little Jay's friend. And the tyke can be mean.

I was an idiot. *Todd half-smiles.* Babs would scold me.

*Todd thinks that over.* If you think it's a good idea... I'd be willin' to meet 'em. I c'n even be polite.

*soft laugh* His friend, eh? All right, all right. I'll be good, Jay.
