Part of the friggin' problem.

A little while back I had a rant on Hip-Hop bloggers, etc. This is some of the sort of crap I'm talking about:
http://www.villagevoice.com/blogs/statusainthood/archives/2007/02/mims_this_is_wh.php

So basically, a New York rapper who's blatantly inspired by the more vacuous segments of Southern rap is getting congratulated for being insistent in his shallowness.

I'm going to be over here waving my middle finger at most rap press nowadays. Who's with me?

Also, I'm going to start doing a countdown on how much longer I'll be able to deal with NYC as far as Hip Hop's concerned. Their biggest hits the past two years not involving Nas or Jay are all stuff that's trying to sound like it's from somewhere else (see Dipset and their ringleader, Jim Jones as the most egregious of offenders).

I swear. I don't ever need to be allowed back into the radio thing. It'll be a problem.

rants, music
