Why do people hate one character because they like another?
I'm a huge FFVII, Tifa Lockheart fan. Always have been. She's sensitive, strong, and kind, and you know what? I still respect Aerith's character. I don't hate other characters because I'm a fan of another, it's stupid.
My older brother is different, he is a huge fan of Aerith and enjoys rubbing it in my face that she was in Kingdom Hearts and Tactics, and will most likely be paired up cannonly with Cloud.
And I tell him that's nice, I don't like Tifa just because she might go with Cloud- I like her the way she is. And when that doesn't get me angry he calls Tifa a bitch and a whore. I don't even bother saying anything.
Now with the sequel movie coming out: Advent Children he's found new things to pick at me for…
Apparently there won't be any Tifa in the movie. And they're remaking FFVII for PS2 without Tifa because she was a "boring character and no one likes her" and she will be replaces by a new character. A German friend supposedly told him.
That really ticks me off. My brother might understand FFVII better than I do but I know fandom better than he does and I KNOW she has fans in Japan. To say she has no fans is a downright lie. I also checked around on Google and there was nothing on the net about her being replaced. And she isn't boring, she's deeper and harder to understand that everyone in the game with the exception of Cloud.
And the only reason he hates her so much because he is a huge Aerith fan. Why can't he leave Tifa alone?
It's people like him that make me angry.
