ENOUGH with the lambasting of Saijou. Yes, I'm aware that he tends to use dirty tricks to win. I'm not convinced that that's reason to wish death on him, though. Mostly because I'm not convinced that he's lying when he claims to be devoted to justice. This is more a case of Ends Justify the Means--*unwitting* hypocrisy. I just can't shake the feeling that this is in part a holdover from when he was trying to run interference against Yokoshima*Mikami (and really, if you'd just met him, would YOU trust Yokoshima with safeguarding Mikami's happiness?)...all right, he still is, although most of the fandom seems to have shifted to supporting Yokoshima*Luciola, but my point remains (and is THAT a capital crime? No.).

(And for the record, I've always supported Yokoshima*Okinu. Maybe that helps explain why I didn't feel particularly antagonistic towards Saijou when he first appeared...)

Besides, he really has had his moments of unalloyed nobility (e.g. his promise to protect Mephistopheles in her first human incarnation as though she were a sister...granted, this was his pre-incarnation...), and his response to Michie putting Mikami through Training From Hell shows that his concern for Mikami is genuine, so I once again can't blame him for going to extremes with regard to her.

Long story short? You're overreacting. Amusement over his antics, all well and good (that's probably the response Shiina had in mind, anyway). Bashing? NO.
