Why do people keep bitching about the fact that Katara didn't save Jet with her magic water? Did they not miss the part where Jet told her "don't bother I'll be fine" when she tried to heal him at all, and then when Longshot said "save yourselves, we'll take care of Jet"? Somehow it's a contrived convenience that she "lol forgot" about her magic water, I even saw a comic on DevArt calling her a bitch and a bad person for not using it to save him.
Whether or not she remembered the magic water at the time doesn't matter. She did want to save Jet, but he kind of didn't let her. Just because she's an all-powerful healer with magic hands doesn't mean the guy's death was All Her Fault because his friend told her to leave. God forbid she even think about saving her own skin and the skin of her close friends.
...I almost hate to even wonder this because people have such a bad reaction to the gender card, but I can't help wondering if it would matter so much had Jet been a girl. :/
